If you enjoy sci-fi and alien conspiracies, you are sure to enjoy The Grays, by Whitley Strieber.
Author of several horror and sci-fi novels, including Communion and The Coming Global Superstorm (with Art Bell, basis for the motion picture "The Day After Tomorrow"), Strieber delivers a high-intensity action thriller with The Grays. This work of fiction is supposedly based in the reality of Strieber's own abduction and contacts with otherworldly beings.
The book takes me back to the days of listening to Art Bell on Coast to Coast AM, late at night, looking up at the stars and pondering what amazing secrets the universe holds. And the incredible things I would hear on that program! Chilling, creepy, sometimes downright terrifying.
This would be a great summer read for anyone who has an interest in aliens, what they're doing here, and what they want from us. Pure fun.
*Also, based on what I've written above, can anyone recommend a similar book?

I recently read Winter's Moon by Dean Koontz, and it is alien/visitation based. I am not familiar with Strieber's writing style, so I am not sure how Koontz' work would compare. I enjoy Koontz because I know he can craft great stories, but sometimes I am disappointed with the lack of depth to them. Still, it would be a quick read.

The best I have seen, haven't read the book, is the movie Contact. The book is written by Carl Sagan. It is very popular and you probably have seen it or read it, but I put it on the top of my list of just about anything.
Have you read any Kurt Vonnegut? I read The Sirens of Titan. It was a cool story. Not exactly about aliens. But close. He is a great writer.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've never read Koontz, but of course I know of his popularity. Looking forward to reading him.
Contact was awesome, just watched it again the other day. Haven't read any Vonnegut in years, but I love his style. Actually, I don't do a whole lot of leisure reading these days...mostly programming books. That's ok, I enjoy it. :-)
