These are always fun.

Share your desktop with others, and preferably use isara to host the screenshots. All OS's welcome. Just be sure to include what theme you are using(if you are using one), where you got the wallpaper, and any other info you think is necessary.

Here is my Current Kubuntu desktop on my own custom computer.

Wallpaper from http://www.interfacelift.com

That website has the most amazing wallpapers ever. I recommend it all the way.

Here is mine:

Background found by an Isara Image Search for "World at Night" because I find it fascinating.
Just running standard Windows XP Media Center Edition, but I like to keep my desktop simple with only 2 icons. The things I need most are just a click or two away.

Sean - Nice folder you've got on your desktop. I've been wondering where my photos went. Let me know when you're through making copies of them for the scrapbook you're working on.

Since I don't have any folders of anyone posing with squirrels or party hats, this will have to do. Oh Wait! There are party hats!

How do you get the desktop onto the forum?  I would like to post mine but can't figure out how to do it.

If you are using Windows - Go to the desktop and click "Print Scn" on your keyboard (most likely two buttons above "Delete" in the "F" key row) Then open paint and click paste. Save as a JPEG. Go to Isara PIX and upload it and copy the code for forums into your post here on Isara.

If you are using Mac: Go to Best Buy and buy a PC, then see above.

For those still confused...

1) Hit the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard.  (nothing will happen but it copies your current desktop like a picture)
2) Click on Start>Programs>Accessories>Paint
3) In Microsoft Paint just go to the top and click Edit>Paste
4) Your desktop should now be in there, and then just click File>Save As....and in the drop down menu next to "Save as Type", change that to .JPEG.   Name it whatever you want and save it to your desktop.

Using Isarapix:
1) Open IsaraPix or go here.http://www.isarapix.org/
2) Click the big "Browse" button to find the picture you saved from Microsoft Paint and click open.
3) You can now click "Upload Image".
4) Your image will soon appear and there will be a bunch of forum code to the right.  Choose the first one and highlight all of the text.  Then right click and hit "copy".
5) Now all you have to do is go to your reply message and right click your mouse and hit "Paste".  The code should appear and hopefully your picture when you hit "preview" to look at it.

I realize this was long, but it probably takes less time to actually do it.  For new users it is definitly nice to have a step by step for the first time. If anyone finds any errors PM me or ZeroG you can just edit it Smiley

I'm fond of this one. I don't remember where I found it, but it reminds my of my childhood TV experience, waiting impatiently for 7 a.m. to roll around.

Someone previously posted a site with a ton of nice desktops. I picked this one...

I had a picture I had taken in Norway up, but the quality was not that good. I like this one because it 'wraps around' nicely on my second head.

Yeah...I saw that one too. Almost looks fake. Those are some nice desktops. Got me inspired to do some HD stuff. You take 3-5 shots at the same time, and blend them.

The focal point in my little forest is about 25' away.

Screen capture instructions for Mac:

Drag:
Hold keys: Command + Shift + 4
Then drag mouse from top left of screen to bottom right.

Selective:
Hold keys: Command + Shift + 4 (and tap) SPACE
Then mouse over whatever application window, bar or object (such as image/drive/application) icons you want to capture.

My desktop is too large to upload onto IsaraPIX. Pity.

This is a picture of my cat, Stitch. He's a mama's boy all the way. I also have a computer cat that just walks around and does stuff. He's cute. In the picture he's watching tv.
