@ Ginafish, great idea about the "Sandmans" and I can't wait to see their Valentines! Sand Castles would be another art drawing/coloring/cut paper project! :) (I know the sand castles are a stretch, but maybe not for Thailand!) :) 5555

My final art class with Vania... we asked the kids to make a mobile with any animals, shapes or anything that they desire. A kid asked me to draw a dragon (to my surprise) fortunately he liked it! Thanks also to Michelle and Pi May for the help.

Now that Vania and Simon are gone, I've taken over the art class with Teacher Julia's help! With the Chinese Year of the Rabbit approaching on February 3rd, we made posters and two varieties of origami rabbits: I gave the kids star stickers and they went a little crazy. The chubby origami bunnies blow up like balloons! Kind of creepy Robo-Bunny, who somehow ended up squished. What you can't see in this photo is that the boys aren't even looking at me--they're looking at James's laptop, playing a game! Teacher James, why would you steal my students?! There were still several Mulan lantern templates in the art box, left over from Christmas. I thought they would fit today's theme, but most of the kids weren't interested because they'd already made them before. With my helper here, I made the lanterns to flesh out our Chinese New Year display. The final display! Most of the really good origami bunnies were taken home, but we still had a few to hang in the classroom. Now, what to do for next week...?

Look like fun. Love it, It made me want to make one too!
There are so many different types of art. Making the kids think out side the box, no copy. Let them create it out from their mind. I'm sure you will find out what to do for next week. :)

The New Year origami decorations look amazing. Origami is a great project for every age. Its a very good finger/eye coordination exercise. :)
In the last photo, is that the air conditioning unit donated? Yea!! :D

Hey guys, my name is Hao, an artist currently based in Chicago. I am really interested in the art program at Isara, or any other project that requires artistic skills. Can someone please shed light on some information on the arts please? such as current projects, opened positions, or anything else i can help with and be a part of! Thank you guys so much!
