Now that Vania and Simon are gone, I've taken over the art class with Teacher Julia's help! With the Chinese Year of the Rabbit approaching on February 3rd, we made posters and two varieties of origami rabbits:

I gave the kids star stickers and they went a little crazy.

The chubby origami bunnies blow up like balloons!

Kind of creepy Robo-Bunny, who somehow ended up squished. What you can't see in this photo is that the boys aren't even looking at me--they're looking at James's laptop, playing a game! Teacher James, why would you steal my students?!

There were still several Mulan lantern templates in the art box, left over from Christmas. I thought they would fit today's theme, but most of the kids weren't interested because they'd already made them before. With my helper here, I made the lanterns to flesh out our Chinese New Year display.

The final display! Most of the really good origami bunnies were taken home, but we still had a few to hang in the classroom.
Now, what to do for next week...?
