Some of you might be familiar with Derek. He's been hanging around the forums, preparing for his trip to Thailand, for a while. Well, after spending some times on the beautiful beaches, Derek has arrived in Nong Khai and is ready to get to teaching!

Unfortunately the ILC is closed for repairs (and the new year holiday) but we'll get him teaching next week, for sure! ;D

Please welcome our latest volunteer, Derek, to the Isara family.

I did have a great NYE.  Ming took Sean, Travis, and me to her friend's party.  I had so much fun, when it was time to leave I decided to stay.  So I ended up singing karaoke until the early morning.  To say the least I had a blast.
Nong Khai is a great place.  I made friends with some skateboarders down by the river.  The people here are so genuine.  I have never had so many invitations.  Glad to be here.

Thanks Derek! Nice job. I didn't look too foolish  ;).

The music you picked sync'd up very well. I can imagine the original sound was very distorted as you were recording right in front of the speakers, which were cranked WAY up.

I saw the Elephant Song and The Macarena.

During the rotation portion of of the camp, they played these two songs over-and-over again through loud speakers which we could hear from the World Geography rotation area.

what a good time.  I am pretty sure Eliza made the trip.  Think of which I am going to send them the link, I bet they would get a kick out of it.  I wrecked my bicycle in da nang, vietnam,  I dislocated my shoulder and broke my tailbone!  I am ok though, probably going to have to park my bike though for a month.  Pity, vietnam's coast is so great.  I am glad I got to cycle part of it.  I should be back at isara for week here next month or sooner.  miss you guys.
