Ian - Absolutely, I'm looking forward to meeting you.

Ginafish - Yes way! ;D  As for school/teaching, I got the teaching position at the American Language Institute so I will be teaching and also continuing work on my master's part time.  So I'll be both be going to class and teaching classes on campus.

Well its great to be back!

I arrived on Friday in the middle of classes and was pleasantly confused/surprised to see so many classrooms going at once.  When I first came in January of 2008 there was one small classroom and I had maybe 10-12 students.  Now there are a bunch of classes (and teachers) and all different levels.  I jumped in to help one of the classes and felt like I was back at home.  It is a really nice feeling to have your students remember you and be excited when you show up (though they may be more excited because they know I like to play games and bring candy lol)

I'm very happy to be back in Nong Khai.

Teacher Dave is quite good, Kirk claims he knows some soft spots in his game so as soon as I can get that info out of him I'll strike :)

Sean is doing a great job teaching all the different age levels. Today he taught the kindergarten students at Ban Nong Jang school. Sean's probably going to teach them outside from now on though. An incident with the classroom's low ceiling, and their even lower ceiling fan, has got him pretty nervous about going back in there. j/k :-)

Great job Sean!! Keep up the good work. Hope you're having a great time. :) Sorry, about the fan incident. Hope all is well now. Teaching outside is a very good alternative. :) You're so brave taking on kindergarten students. :)

Some of the recent volunteers might like to browse through these pictures from Jan-July 08'. If you look closely you might find some students you recognize. Though alot of the faces have changed Isara has come a very very long way since it was just me teaching all the kids in a tiny classroom. Now there are a bunch of great teachers in multiple classrooms. I always look back and think that while in the moment things may be tough and difficult, teaching at Isara has been one of the most positive things in my life. I get a bit teary eyed when I look back at the pictures, in a good way. All of these kids mean alot to me. http://seanisara.smugmug.com/ Today I did a friendly assessment on my students and really realized how far along they have come, even since I was here last in January. My secret personal goal since my first day in Nong Khai has been that someday on one of my trips back I would be able to have a conversation with one of the kids that I taught. I was never really sure if that would be possible. Yet now I know that it will be sooner than I think.
