Just got an e-mail from Chris Bradlee, a long-time friend of Isara, who is currently in northern India. Some of you might remember that Chris helped arrange last years Burma refugee project. Well this year she has found a small school that needs help so Isara will be providing some supplies to the 70 students that study there and also some funds to help pay school expenses. A website was created by one of the schools sponsors to try and get more people involved. Check it out! http://www.ganga-valley-school.org I like how they opened a small shop to help support the school. Sounds a lot like what KitKat is doing with her shop and all the donations she provides to the Isara Learning Center each week. This project is still in the early stages. But once we learn more I will post it here. -pk

Awesome, PK, I'm so happy to hear about this. Will there be an Isara visitation to the school in the future? Be blessed. Gbya

This is wonderful news and I'm so pleased you heard from Chris. I had the pleasure of meeting her when I made my first visit to Nongkhai. She's an amazing young woman and I'm so happy she contacted Isara for help.  :D

:) Hello! I am writing from Laxman Jhula, Rishikesh, India. We are now in the process of getting supplies for the Ganga Valley School and are very excited that Isara could provide help for this wonderful school!  I have spent many hours talking with the Director, Rachel Rai, and have also spent time with the children at the school. Deepest thanks and wishing you all peace! Om Shanti! Chris

:D I'm not the only one who likes pictures, but they help! :D I enjoy the Isara forum because you can read about projects as they happen, and might also get to see the reaction of those who benefit if there are pictures. It helps give a sense of doing something. :) Even if there are no photos, I'm grateful that the forum has been updated with great news about this project! ;D

We just received photos from Chris and also a nice card from all the students at the Ganga Valley School.   The kids received blankets, sweaters, and shoes (which Chris said were a big hit!) because the winter months can be very cold in northern India. In total Isara spent about $275 on this project. Chris is making the long journey back to the US right now but she'll update this topic once she is settled in. Thanks for all your help, Chris. ;D

And on that heartwarming note, I must face my day of being a desk jockey for a very corporate corporation.

My days are numbered and the end is near!  LOL!  Jan 31....Jan 31....Jan 31....

Thanks Chris for the visual reminders of life outside of our own fishbowl.

I am writing to wish all of you at Isara a very happy New Year!! It is great to read everyone's comments about the project in India. It was sheer pleasure being at the Ganga Valley School in Rishikesh and getting to meet Rachel (the director) and all of the sweet children. They were all so pleased to get support from Isara and to get much needed supplies...shoes, socks, blankets, notebooks, pencils, erasers. Thanks again Isara! May peace, health and happiness be with all of you in the New Year!

I bet those sweaters are still being used. :) In settings like this, I imagine they are very frugal.
