HA!  ;D I'm supposed to be retired and I'm still working with no vacation time, hum, maybe, I need to rethink this.  Well, I guess just my age alone gives me reason enough to eat whatever I want for breakfast, right? I feel much better now. :D

I canNOT believe no one posted a meal since I've been gone!  :o  I snuck out of the hospital room JUST to get on here to see what delicious foods someone might have cooked.  I am living on trail mix and steamed vegetables here in the hospital.  ;D  And all the free hot tea, cafe lattes, cappuccinos, and regular coffee my system can stand.  So I'm kinda twitchy right now...

Gotta run!  See ya'll soon.  I'm still in the hospital at the moment.  :)

I don't know why, but it has never occurred to me to buy shredded cheese for hot dogs at home...d'Oh!

    Very festive plates KitKat!

Last night we had wraps for dinner, but mine was so stuffed it didn't make for a pretty picture. We used whole grain tortilla's with iceberg, romaine, and baby spinach, with olives, celery, cucumbers, raw squash, and oriental sesame vinegarette. Yummy! Now I've got to go make lunch. Mac and Cheese anyone? :D

Ginafish, the plate you see is the hot dog made by one of my grandkids. Ha! I actually forgot to get melted cheese.  I like everything on mine, mustard, mayo, relish, ketchup, cheese, onions and chili, the works!! Lunch time was a little busy and I'm just happy I was able to get snap photo! ;D

WhoHoo! This week by accident I discovered how to make your lettuce very crfispy!!
I pulled out some wilted romaine lettuce from my fridge that needed cleaning and soaked it in a large bowl of cool water.  I actually forgot all about my lettuce soaking and when I finally returned to the kitchen to finish cleaning it, I discovered it wasn't wilted and was crispy. I placed it in a gallon ziplock bag and put it in the fridge and when I went to use it for dinner I found it was the crispiest lettuce I'd even eaten.  Amazing!

It could be I'm the last one in the world to know this secret for making your lettuce crispy, but if not, try it and you'll see for yourself. It stays crispy in your fridge for days, maybe even weeks, if it's not all gone by then. ;)

What time of day do you eat dinner? I'm pretty sure you were eating lettuce for dinner, yet it's only 5:30 CST, so are you early eaters? We try to have dinner between 6 and 7 but sometimes fail miserably and end up eating at 7:30 p.m. right before bedtime! Opps!

;D Ha! Ginafish, that was last nights dinner. We normally eat dinner at 6:00.
We always eat early.  Tonight we're having nice and crispy green lettuce again. ;D Gota run, it's 6:00 hehehehe!!

I miss cooking.  I have not had anything cooked in over a week.  I heated up a can of soup over the weekend.  *sigh*  But I will get to do some cooking this weekend for my mom.  I told her to make a list of things she wanted to me to cook for her to  keep on hand for the week.  ;D

*Edit:  its 11:45pm and I just finished baking cookies for work tomorrow.  Shuffling to bed now....

Okay, a friend of mine says this really tastes like the roche candy, but I'm waiting on someone else to try it first:

Jar of Nutella as a dip for salty chips like corn chips.

Anyone brave enough in here? ;D

I've never tried it, actually didn't know what it was, found this link and it looks "YummO"!
This link had some great suggestions too.
I can't try it, chocolate and peanut brittle are dangerous in our house! Calories, calories, calories and can be addictive, to some! :o I bought some peanut brittle one time and it actually said "this product can be addictive". ;D ;D  How true, how true....... :(

Gina, I'm not sure what roche candy is, but one thing close the heaven on earth is chocolate covered potato chips.  There is a chocolate shop here that makes them, as well as chocolate covered popcorn.  http://www.peterbrooke.com/chocolate_covered_potato_chips.htm

I've been a little remiss in this thread of late, but I stumbled across something new in the grocery store produce section and have no idea what it is.  Anyone know?  They look like hairy strawberries.

Rambutan is what it's called, but apparently, it's not in seasons. Although, for Florida, they might be perfectly ripe. I've never seen any in my store, but I'm always up for trying fruit! It's odd meat products that scare me! ;D

I saw on your link lots of fruit I haven't tried, well to be honest all of them! lol  I've seen some  in super markets here.
I didn't try kiwi until a few years ago and love it now.  It's very high in potassium and delicious.

    T. did you buy some of the hairy fruit?  Try it and let us know. lol

No, I didnt even touch them! haha!  I was on the phone with my mom and had to hang up to take that picture.  If they are there when I go back to the store, I will buy a few and give some feedback.  So now, I need to try the corn chips and nutella, and the hairy fruit.  I'm out of coffee creamer, so I may go back this evening.
